Underwater spine traction

Underwater spine traction (traction therapy) is one of the methods for treating the spine using mineral water.
The treatment method has been used in Russia for more than fifty years.
During therapy, muscle spasm is overcome, the displacement of the vertebrae, the deformity of the spinal column are eliminated.
The course consists of 4-6 procedures (in some cases up to 10 procedures), conducted every other day.

Indications for use

The procedure is effective in the treatment of hernias of the intervertebral disc, lumbodynia with neurological manifestations; lumboischialgia with static-dynamic disorders in the form of limiting the range of motion in the spine; scoliosis of I and II degree; kyphoscoliosis of I and II degree; flattening of the lumbar lordosis; radicular compression; compression radiculopathy; the initial manifestations of ankylosing spondylitis; deforming spondylosis. Less therapeutic effect is observed with hernias more than 6 mm.

Therapy is contraindicated in the acute stage of the disease with a pronounced pain syndrome; sequestered disc herniation (especially when a horsetail is squeezed); hemangiomas; spinal instability; violation of cerebrospinal circulation; inflammatory spinal syndromes (arachnoiditis, cicatricial-adherent epiduritis); individual poor tolerance to traction (pain is exaggerated subjectively); spinal fractures; condition after laminectomy.
